Pavel Popov, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Transport at RUT (MIIT) and a speaker at one of the business program’s scientific discussions, shares his thoughts on the upcoming event.
What are the benefits of attending the conference?
"The 'PRO//Motion. Transport Management Systems' conference, which will take place in
Nizhny Novgorod on August 18-20, 2026, is an opportunity to step away from daily
operational tasks and, together with professional colleagues, reflect on the strategic
directions of industry development and discuss promising technologies for railway
management systems.
The conference is a reflection of the industry: summing up the year's results and testing new ideas.
It is also a great opportunity to meet old and new friends, make useful contacts
and have a wonderful time in the wonderful city of Nizhny Novgorod,", – notes
the expert.
Presentation announcement: automation and autonomous driving
This year Pavel Popov is participating in a discussion titled
"Autonomous Systems and Low-Staff Technologies". The Candidate of Technical Sciences
will focus on the topic of automation and autonomous driving, which is becoming
increasingly relevant.
"The shrinking working-age population requires new solutions, and the technologies that
we used 3–4 years ago are already becoming obsolete. In my presentation, I will review
the current status and shortcomings of existing autonomous transport solutions,
and highlight promising directions for development. Special attention will be paid to
the detailed breakdown of automation levels for autonomous rail transport",
reports the Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Transport
RUT (MIIT).
